Organic Modern design reflective of life in Idaho’s Wood River Valley
After
-Introduction-
We fell in love with this property the moment we saw it. Nestled on a bluff between Sun Valley and Hailey - it offers incredible views of the surrounding mountains and endless natural light. The original early-80's home had character, but when we discovered that a previous addition was constructed over the side setback, we knew a full rebuild was the right choice.
With our combined experience in real estate, homebuilding, and interior design, we began sketching a new floor plan that would take full advantage of the site’s natural setting. Our goal was simple: design a home that lives beautifully in every season - one that embraces the sunlight, celebrates the views, and feels equally inviting for quiet mornings or evenings spent entertaining friends.
-The Vision-
We approached this design the same way we approach every ROAM project - with intention, flow, and authenticity. The architecture blends Organic Modern design elements with natural textures and clean, simple lines. Every finish, fixture, and furnishing was chosen to create warmth, depth, and connection to the outdoors.
The open-concept kitchen, dining, and living areas anchor the home, framed by 12-foot ceilings and expansive glass that opens to the mountain views beyond. Twin iron double doors - one at the entry and one at the dining room - create a direct visual line through the home and out to the horizon.
A working kitchen tucked behind the main one keeps prep and cleanup out of sight while allowing for effortless entertaining. Between the kitchen and primary suite, a built-in coffee bar provides a quiet morning retreat that feels like a little luxury every day.
Outside, an expansive covered patio stretches the length of the living, dining, and kitchen spaces - designed for year-round enjoyment with unobstructed views of the ever-changing landscape.
-The Layout-
This single-level design features three ensuite bedrooms, plus a powder bath conveniently located near the exercise studio and two-person sauna. Guest suites are accessed from their own hallway for privacy, while the primary suite enjoys a secluded wing of its own.
In the primary bathroom, a picture window frames the mountains beyond the freestanding tub. A steam shower, dual vanities, and dedicated make-up space complete the spa-like atmosphere. The oversized walk-in closet connects directly to the laundry room, creating an easy flow from morning routine to daily living.
From the gallery hallway that leads from the garage to the foyer, to the ski lockers just inside the oversized 3-car garage (sized to fit our Sprinter Camper Van), every square foot of this home was designed with function, beauty, and real life in mind.
-The Palette-
Our design palette is rooted in warmth, contrast, and connection to nature. Soft, light oak flooring grounds the main living spaces, while subtle textural movement in the natural quartzite countertops adds organic sophistication. The cabinetry and millwork feature a mix of soft painted finishes and rich wood tones, creating a layered, collected feel.
Walls throughout are painted in sun-washed neutral tones, chosen to complement the shifting Idaho light from morning glow to evening shadow. Accents of matte black and warm metal finishes bring quiet definition without distraction.
Every material was selected to feel timeless and authentic - modern yet organic, elevated yet comfortable - perfectly aligned with our vision of approachable luxury and mountain-inspired living.
-The Process-
This home has been a true labor of love - from the very first sketch to the architectural plans, finish selections, and furnishings. Every detail reflects our design philosophy at ROAM: natural materials, elevated simplicity, and authentic connection to place.
Completion is anticipated for late summer 2026, and we can’t wait to share the finished result - a modern, organic reflection of life in the Wood River Valley.
